Highlights: Began Taekwondo when he was five years old ... Was a part of sports history when he won the 2005 World Taekwondo Championships in the featherweight division, as his brother Steven and sister Diana also captured world titles at the same event, making them the first trio of siblings to win world championships in the same sport in the same year. Qualified for the 2008 Olympics with his sister, Diana on April 5, 2008, joining older brothers Steven and Jean, who serves as his coach. The 2008 Olympics marked the first time since 1904 that three siblings competed in the same sport at the Olympic Games and the first to ever have four siblings at the same Olympics in the same sport, with Jean as the coach. Mark won a silver medal in Beijing, while Diana and Steven won bronze ... He also won silver at the 2003 World Taekwondo Championships and bronze at the 1999 World Taekwondo Championships when he was the youngest male ever to medal at the event at 17 years of age ... Nine time Junior National Champion (1990-98) ... Three time Junior National Team Member (1995-98) ... 1998 USTU Junior Male Athlete of the Year ... 2005 USA Taekwondo Male Co-Athlete of the Year along with brother Steven Lopez ... enjoys playing volleyball, dancing and going out on weekends in his spare time.
